About the India edition. The national rules, taxes and fees in Part Seven, and the Kerala rules used as the worked example, were researched from official sources and checked on 4 October 2026. Rules differ from state to state and from one local body to the next, and they change, so every chapter in Part Seven tells you how to find the rules where you are, and lists the official pages it relies on. Many Indian government websites could not be opened while this edition was prepared, so some official information could not be confirmed; the chapters mark such points as “reported” and tell you which office to ask. Chapter I-1 (free) also explains how to deal with government offices on a sure and secure path, including the legal way to use liaison agents. For decisions about your own business, take advice from a qualified professional such as a chartered accountant or a lawyer.
